All Monit Q-Series rally computers require a speed sensor to measure distance and speed. G-Series+ products can operate on GPS+ alone, or on speed sensors, or a fusion of both. Monit supplies a range of high-quality sensors to suit most types of vehicles.
Inductive Wheel Probe – PR001
The Monit inductive wheel probe works by detecting the presence of metal as it is brought near the end of the sensor. It is typically fitted to a vehicle’s wheel hub so that it senses the back of the wheel studs or other metal detection targets as they rotate past. In this way, it can be used to measure speed and distance on a wide variety of modern, classic and historic vehicles.
Suitable for all types of vehicles that do not have a factory fitted speed sensor.
The speed sensor interface allows you to use a gearbox or differential mounted factory electronic speed sensor to operate a Monit rally computer. It will work with most types of sensors, and signals, that produce either an analogue or digital pulse output. The interface contains special noise filtering circuitry to prevent interference and eliminate ground loop problems.
The ABS interface takes the signal produced by an ABS Wheel Speed Sensor and converts it into a format that can be used to operate a Monit rally computer. It will work with most types of two wire ABS sensors that generate an analogue output signal.
The interface can only be used with ABS wheel speed sensors that have been disconnected and are no longer used by the vehicle’s safety systems. It must not be fitted to any vehicle that still uses its ABS system.
